Set design
Below is the set design for roughly where we will place the set, the actors and also a track for the camera. We drew this when we first visited the studio to see how it would work if set up. We planned for space and also the entrance and exits as well.
Lighting Plan
Below is the lighting plan that we have devised for the studio filming, we worked out which lights were where and then planned in where we would have them, and which ones we would use to light different parts of the stage. We didn't feel that the all coloured lights were going to be amazingly helpful, such as the pink and green lights really didn't look that effective when we first went into the studio to try them out. However the red light did seem to look quite effective if flashed in time with the music.

Essex Filming Day
Today we went up to Essex and filmed all of the shots that we require for the countryside shots of the music video. We used the shot list and the story board to complete all of the scenes to create the desired effect that we were looking for.

Health and Safety
This is the health and safety assessment form, we filled these out for both the studio and the countryside film shots. They contain all of the information about the location and any of the health and safety concerns. These can then be make clear so that they can be avoided as much as possible.
Equipment Budget
Here is our equipment budgeting, we used minimal equipment for our shoots as we didn't intend to require that much set cost or overall spend, as instruments and other stands were set up in house.

Equipment Booking
Here is our equipment booking form, it displays all of the equipment. We took our video camera, a tripod and a dolly. It displays the date that we took out the camera and also the date that it had to be returned. Our contact number was left on the form incase the camera wasn't returned or it was returned damage and a contact could be made for payments and other conversation.

Shot-list for Essex filming Location
Below is the shot list for the Essex film shoot, this is a sheet that we worked with to help structure our filming. The shot list contains all of the shot types, the action and all of the performers, props and equipment that can be used.
A continuation of the shot list for the Essex film shoot.
Contingency Planning
One of our main issues was that when we went up to film in Essex, is that the weather forecast had changed since we had looked at the Met Office website. Unfortunately it began raining rather heavily and we had to postpone filming outside, instead we filmed all of our inside footage and whilst having a lunch break the rain stopped. We then just got ready and went straight to the location.

Production Schedule
Here is the first halve of our production schedule, this displays all of our plans, where, what and when all of the activities that we are going to complete during the process of the video production. This is the document that we use to keep track of our progress, and also what we are planning to do in the future. It has been greatly helpful and also allows us to all know who has to do what within our group. In our lesson on Friday we would set tasks to do over the weekend, and then evaluate them once we had our lesson again on the Monday.
Storyboard
Here is the first part of our storyboard for the Little Lion Man music video, this is where we planned out every shot that we required to complete our edit. In the image box it contains what we wish to achieve, and then below is the shot number, shot type and the action that will take place.
Storyboard Timeline
Above is the storyboard timeline, this lays out the times that certain sounds and sections of the song happen. This allows us to design the storyboard and add more intricate detail to it. The timeline maps out the verses and separate sections of the song, such as the acapella section.

The 9 Key Frames
Here are the 9 key frames. These frames are 9 of the key situations during the music video. The frames are drawn on post-it notes, this allows the frames to be changed throughout process of creating a storyboard. The frames that we drew varied constantly, as they are differently displayed throughout.
The frames are either from the countryside or from the studio, we only had the band during the studio session. We only used the lead singer whilst in the countryside.

Mood-board
Below is the mood-board for our music video Little Lion Man, by Mumford and Sons. Contained in the image is a rough representation of how we want our music video to look, whilst in the studio. We wanted quite a dark set, and to have it lit by fairy lights. From here we could begin to plan our 9 key frames and begin with our creative elements to the video.
As we couldn't really find a band that could represent Mumford and Sons, we agreed to use them for the mood-board.

Treatment and Proposal
The Treatment and Proposal allows us to convey our music video idea in a professional manor. It will contain who, what, when and where the music video can happen, how it can happen and why it would look best to be done this way. It will give a rough representation of how the band will be presented, how the track will be portrayed and how the other characters that aren't in the band will fit into the shots. Our Treatment and Proposal will convey our visual style and help show how if we were to present the work to a record label.

Track Selection and Pitch Selection
After a group decision at our first team production meeting, we have decided to choose Little Lion Man by Mumford and Sons. However because of the great ideas put forward from all members of our team, we are incorporating multiple aspects from each pitch.
Our new pitch for our video is below:
We want to start the song, in the brief section where there isn't any music. It will start with a long shot, on a frosty morning. With a male and female silhouette on a bench, it will show the female walk away. Left alone, this male silhouette will then become visible. You see a him in a mid shot, he picks up his guitar and begins to play. It will be as if he's writing the song, and then goes onto play it with his band. In the next section to the music video (roughly 20 seconds) we will have performance shots whilst in the studio with the whole set and band, and then establishing shots of countryside to give a rough sense to the themes the band create. These countryside shots will focus pull in and out of the band in the studio. Roughly half way through the song, he will get off the bench and chase are after her. The video will continue on this way, introducing her into the frame. Showing who the girl was who left at the start, showing their good times. Showing how it's over now, how he is now alone. Yet he has managed to write an amazing song using his emotions. This will cut between the various location shots, of countryside, and the bench. We will go onto have cutaways to add diversity to the video; such as having close up shots of the guitar and strong motions to connect with heavy beats that are in the audio. To end our music video we want to it to strip back down to him playing alone on the bench, as the last line "didn't I my dear" is him singing solo acapella. Showing how that he has written the song, linking back to the beginning, portraying that the song portrayed his emotions.

Music Video Selection Phase
Music video pitch selection - For and Against ideas
Lucy - Mumford and Sons - Little Lion Man
What we like about this music video is the song which our group have decided will work very well with a music video. It has a nice antique and sepia feel which the group like. What the group are against for using this song is that it difficult coming up with a narrative for the song.
Kristie - Crew Love - Drake
What we like about this idea is the static effect in the music video which looks effective. What we dont like about the idea is it will be difficult to make a music video to as it is a rap video.
Sam - Dog Days are Over - Florence and the machine
What we like about this idea is the narrative Sam Pitched as it fits very well with the narrative of the song. We decided we could use a good combination of performance based and narrative music video. What we have against the ideas is the song as we decided it wont work as well as using Lucy's idea.
Jack - A - Punk - Vampire Weekend
What we like about this idea is the song which we thought would work well in a music video and it is a song that we all like. What we had against the idea was that the narrative wasn't as strong as the others ideas from people in the group. The music video pitch only consisted of performance based structure rather than combining it with a narrative.

Ideas Sheet
To get some ideas for the music video, we firstly created a sheet of possible designs and some various ideas that we could base our music video on and to also bring in a creative flare to drive us in our music video. The ideas sheet is set into multiple colours, this helped us break up the ideas into sections. These sections enabled us to decide on which ideas to use and which weren't such a good idea.
From here we could then begin to write up our Treatment and Proposal, this will contain; how we will design the music video if we were presenting it to a record label.
